8th ANNUAL DECOMMISSIONING & DEMOLITION FORUM FOR HIGH HAZARD PROCESS PLANTS: FOSSIL-FUEL POWER PLANTS, CHEMICAL/PETROCHEMICAL AND REFINERIES
About the Conference
At the moment decommissioning and demolition of fossil-fuel power plants have an unprecedented importance not only in Europe but worldwide. As of November 2021, nearly 200 countries have made an unprecedented and historic pledge at the COP26 climate summit to speed up the end of fossil fuel subsidies and reduce the use of coal, meaning that power plants operators have to move fast. Moreover, they need to organize decommissioning and demolition processes in the most efficient, optimal and cost-effective way. This is not an easy task as a lot of variables have to be taken into account, from compliance to current regulations to incorporation of the best technical and financial strategies.
Over the two days of the conference you will have the opportunity to discuss a broad range of current topics crucial for decommissioning and demolition of hazard process plants:
- Optimizing costs and boosting profitability before, during and after decommissioning
- Cutting-edge digital decommissioning technologies
- Sustainability and circular economy: The future of decommissioning and demolition
- Best-practice in asbestos removal and decontamination
- Ensuring best-practice in post-decommissioning decontamination
- A focus on developing regulation
- Examining the relationship between the contractor and the asset owner
- A scrutiny of effective waste management strategies
- The importance of dust suppression for a successful demolition process
