Event Overview
The Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) is a new European Union-wide legislative framework designed to reduce packaging waste, boost recycling, and promote a circular economy. It mandates that all packaging placed on the EU market must be recyclable by 2030, sets recycled content targets, and encourages reuse. By 2035, packaging must be both recyclable and effectively recycled at scale, meaning 30% for wood and at least 55% of all other packaging categories is successfully recycled EU-wide.
Why This Event Now
October 2026, is the timing when the EU regulative (in force from August 12, 2026) will sit in the ‘rollout and correction’ phase: At this time, companies will be eligible to implement and propose changes as in case if something cannot be met and ctr.
